Overview
This activity takes you into the heart of ancient Rome with an itinerary designed to tell the imperial history of the city in a clear and engaging way. In about an hour and a half, the group is guided through panoramic viewpoints, archaeological remains and privileged observation points over the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.
The experience starts around the Colosseum and continues along Via dei Fori Imperiali, where you pass places linked to the Forums of Nerva, Augustus and Trajan. Along the way, anecdotes and curiosities about the Flavian Amphitheatre, the Domus Aurea, the Arch of Constantine and the political and social history of ancient Rome are explained.

From here the walk begins in the monumental area of Imperial Rome, with a general introduction to the route and the places that will be visited.
Panoramic terrace over the Colosseum
The first stop is an elevated viewpoint from which to observe the Flavian Amphitheatre and retrace the origins of the Colosseum, its construction and the most important details of its history. It is a stop designed to frame the monument before approaching it on foot.
Domus Aurea and Arch of Constantine
During the explanation, the secrets of Nero’s Domus Aurea and the story of the Arch of Constantine are also told.

The group descends to street level to see the Colosseum up close and take photographs from a more direct perspective. It is a short but very scenic stop, useful for observing the details of the monument from a different angle.
Forums of Nerva, Augustus and Trajan
You walk alongside the remains of the Forums of Nerva, Augustus and Trajan, with explanations about the different emperors who commissioned them and the role these complexes played in the organization of the ancient city. The stop helps to read the whole archaeological landscape.
Trajan’s Column and the Victor Emmanuel II Monument
The route includes a short stop near Trajan’s Column, with a view of the grand Victor Emmanuel II Monument. It is a moment for observing and storytelling.
Terrace
One of the most beautiful terraces in Rome. You will discover where some famous phrases come from, such as SPQR. This is where the tour ends.
