The route combines emblematic monuments, colonial churches, historic squares, and charming corners with gastronomic experiences that let you discover the city’s most representative flavors. Basilica of the National Vow: Quito from above
We begin our experience in front of the majestic Basilica of the National Vow, one of Quito’s most emblematic landmarks. After a brief introduction to the tour, we will ascend its impressive towers to enjoy one of the best panoramic views of the city. From the top, you will take in the Historic Center, the mountains surrounding the capital, and the contrasts between old and modern Quito, while discovering the stories and curiosities that make this place a symbol
Casa Vásconez: art, tradition, and your own creation
We continue to Casa Vásconez, a hidden corner in Quito’s Historic Center where colonial architecture merges with contemporary art. Here you will discover sculptures inspired by Andean folklore, such as the emblematic Vaca Loca, while learning about their cultural meaning. In addition, you will take part in an express workshop on Ecuadorian folk art, creating your own hand-painted keepsake to take home as an authentic connection with local creativity.
Plaza Grande and Archbishop’s Palace: history and Quito sweetness
In the heart of the Historic Center we will walk through the emblematic Plaza Grande, the epicenter of Quito’s political and social life. Here you will learn about the stories that have shaped the city and its evolution over time. We will pause at the famous “sweeter corner” to enjoy a tasting of traditional Quito sweets, in an atmosphere that combines history, culture, and local flavors.
Church of the Society of Jesus: the gold of Quito art
At this stop we will explore the interior of the Church of the Society of Jesus, one of the greatest Baroque jewels in Latin America. Its impressive nave, almost completely covered in gold leaf, reveals centuries of art, faith, and history. A space that dazzles with its visual richness and symbolism, considered one of the most important works in Quito’s Historic Center. The visit to the domes or crypts is optional and has an additional cost.
Traditional Quito lunch: flavors of the city
During this break in the tour, you will enjoy a traditional Quito lunch in a carefully selected local venue. It will be the ideal moment to recharge while immersing yourself in the authentic flavors of the city’s cuisine, with recipes that reflect Quito’s identity and culinary tradition. On this final stop we will visit the majestic San Francisco Church, one of Quito’s most important and oldest religious complexes. Its imposing architecture and richly decorated interior reflect the splendor of the Quito School. A space full of history, art, and spirituality that closes the tour with a deep connection to the city’s colonial legacy.
A grand finale: Ecuadorian chocolate
We end this experience with a tasting of Ecuadorian chocolate, internationally recognized for its quality and unique flavor.
